Once the largest sheep station in the southern hemisphere, Merribee has been lovingly restored for a new era where architecture, nature, and story meet.
Now opening its gates for the first time in over a century, the sandstone homestead offers a rare kind of presence that feels grounded, intentional, and deeply personal.
Completed in 1912, the sandstone homestead remains the heart of Merribee station. It features hand-laid walls, 16ft pressed-metal ceilings, and double-storey rooms that open onto light-filled verandahs and gardens. Upstairs, the homestead offers considered accommodation for up to 12 guests – ten of your closest across five individually appointed queen bedrooms, with the entire top storey reserved as a private Bridal Suite.
Step outside to discover olive groves, the tuscan walk, twin rose gardens, three arbours, and a circular stage beneath open sky.
A private pool and adjoining poolhouse provide kitchen, entertainment and bathroom facilities, along with a wood-fired pizza oven, perfect for warm evenings and long lunches.

Merribee has been my family home for 25 years, but opening it to weddings was never really the plan.
When Jacques and I were searching for somewhere to get married, we looked all over the world, but I kept coming back to the same thought: “It’s just not like Merribee.” Nothing had the same privacy, history or freedom to make the weekend entirely our own.
We spent months restoring the inside and designing the grounds to celebrate our own wedding here. In the process, I realised one of the most beautiful things about Merribee as a setting is that no two celebrations need ever be the same – what you create here is entirely your own.
Today, I open the estate to a small number of weddings and private gatherings each year.
